My name is Richard Seaton. I am a retired United Methodist Pastor and this is my website. Welcome.
I served United Methodist Churches in Western Missouri from 1964 to 2000.
I retired in 2000 and moved from Missouri to Louisiana to be close to my son and family.
I first moved to Plain Dealing, LA about 25 miles away from Shreveport. It was a big house and about 4 acres of land. In 2009 I decided to move into Shreveport to a smaller house and lot in order to be closer to my family and my doctors, etc. I purchased this 3 bedroon bungalow on Rutherford Street in Shreveport. My back gate goes out into Columbia Park (which I don't have to mow)
I now am only a few blocks from Rick and Andrea and the grandchildren.
My Grandchildren:

Jemma, age 12 on left

Isaac, age 10 on Right

Zachery, below, age 2

This is part of my Library and computer room. My library consists of over 9000 bound volumes plus over 1000 DVDs and 3 computers always internet ready. This is my workshop and craft building in the back yard. I was able to cram most of my stuff into it.
Activities I am involved in:
LCCampmeeting.org One of my involvements has been the Lake Creek Campmeeting...the oldest continuous Campmeeting West of the Mississippi. The Campmeeting is held the first full week of August every year. Click on link on the Left to go to that website.
I am the author of several books on United Methodist History. Still in print and available for sale are:
History of the United Methodist Churches of Missouri -- 406 Pages -- hardbound -- $30
Hallelujah in the Forest -- 112 pages - softbound -- $15
Click E-mail button above if you would like to order a copy.
Brocato's Cookbooks -- Recipes from Shreveport's Landmark Restaurant.
One of my most recent projects is a cookbook of the recipes from Brocato's Restaurant on Kings Highway in Shreveport.
It was Shreveport's oldest restaurant when it closed in late 2001. The cookbooks are $9.95 each plus $2.00 shipping and handling and may be ordered by e-mail.
This book features specialties such as Red Snapper in the Bag plus directions on preparing many sauces and dressings.
